Tired of Keeping Track of your Business Expenses?
As a small business owner you probably spend lots of time collecting and categorizing receipts from your business expenses so you can do your taxes. The makers of TurboTax and QuickBooks are working on a solution that may make this process a snap for you.
We want honest, candid customer feedback during our beta test our new TurboTax product, “ExpensePro.”
What is ExpensePro?
www.ExpensePro.com is a new website we’ve built that automatically tracks and categorizes your business income and expenses to make tax time easy.
The first time you log in to ExpensePro.com, you’ll enter your online account information for your bank accounts and credit cards. After that, ExpensePro will import all your income and expense transactions and auto-categorize them for the IRS so you don't have to. At the end of the year, you’ll have an easy-to-read Tax Report ready with little effort to help either you or your accountant complete your taxes. ExpensePro will also give you a snapshot of how much you're making and spending all in one place.

I received a settlement for a personal injury in December 08. I do not understand why the firm that had to pay me, sent me a 1099. Is a lawsuit settlement taxable? And if so, if the attorney got more than 2/3 of the settlement, shouldn't the attorney have to pay the taxes on the money he received?

Carry - grow up! How are they going to track your expenses if you don't give them your account details? Do you want to enter expenses manually?? Millions of Quicken users have been disclosing their account information to Intuit without problems, so the risk should be quite low.

Interesting tip! As a realtor I have a lot of various small expenses (photos, web maintenance, printing costs, office costs,...) some of them ar regular, but many are coming in random time order. And sometimes it's really hard to trace everything...

I am tired of keeping track! That's why I am surf turbotax for a solution. However, I am not comfortable giving out all that personal information. Why not give us something to "download" and then "transfer"? Or I would be happy just printing out the numbers and typing them in at tax time as with other programs. Too scary doing it your way.
